Routine Core Analysis

Upon arrival at the laboratory, routine core analysis includes imaging (CT scanning and photography), Core Gamma (Total and Spectral), Slabbing, Plugging, Cleaning, Drying, determination of saturations, grain density, porosity and permeability.

Sample cleaning includes water extraction by Dean Stark method, Soxhlet hot and cool solvent cleaning. Drying methods include convection oven, vacuum oven and humidity oven methods.

Pore and Grain Volumes are determined by Boyle’s law method.  Air Permeability and Klinkenberg Permeability can be determined by steady state and unsteady state methods.
